Time traveling movie?

A few years ago i watched a movie, but i don't know the name of it. It is a guy and a lady outside, a park or somethinh, and i think he was going to propose to her, but then a man shot her. this is in the past, because they seems a little old. i think the man who shot her was a thief, and asked for their things, and she hided her ring, and then shoot her. He has a really big time machine in his house, i think, in a room of bricks and lots of windows. When he is time travelling we can see the bricks on the wall changing, while he is just sitting there in the time machine, as if everything around him is changing. when it stops he is on a big field, green grass. i think this is far into the future, and a lady (?) finds him, taking him to her village or something, which is small huts on a mountain side.. i dont remember any more..
