My boyfriend says I'm overreacting. Am I?

When a person continually tells you that your behavior - especially where these very small things are concerned - is annoying, and then attacks you by calling you names, makes fun of your origins, and infers that you are stupid, he is way out of line. Why does it matter how long it takes you to choose grocery items? Are you now supposed to fake the right kind of laughter and suppress your joy to not annoy him? This is controlling and petty. The next time he indulges his childness, ask him why it matters. If he replies that it's stupid, ask why it's stupid. He is behaving badly, and blaming you for it. It is akin to abusers who blame the victim by saying 'you made me do it'.
